If you are not get intimidated by inclines and you want to discover the natural beauties of the Garda Lake, this tour will give you access to a road with breathtaking view. This tour will take you on a road called Ponale, which once connected Riva del Garda with Ledro Valley. Today it has been transformed into a cycle and pedestrian breathtaking view of Garda Lake! We will ride on dirt roads where motor vehicles are not allowed. The gradient of the slope is maintained at a constant comfortable almost 5% and if you like, we will stop during the route to take amazing photos!
The Ponale Path presents various uphill stretches to the edge of the lake, alternating splendid view to passages in the woods.
During the Austro-Hungarian Empire the Ponale was paramount to hold Riva and the North Garda Lake and then used during the First World War. We will pass through tunnels carved into the limestone rock and overhanging the waters of Garda Lake. We will stop at an incredible terrace bar, where if you like, you can have drink like a coffee, selected beers and Italian wine. From the terrace you can see sailboats crossing the lake, paraglider zipping overhead and the most spectacular mountains and nature all around you.
